Meet our team
Owner & Founder
Daniel is originally from Des Moines, Iowa, where he was raised by a mother from Colombia and a father from Canada. Despite being from opposite sides of the equator, they somehow found each other in the heart of the Midwest, instilling in Daniel a relentless work ethic and the belief that family is the foundation for everything else. Those early lessons stayed with him as he pursued a lifelong passion for sports, eventually leading him to the sidelines as a college basketball coach for programs like Baylor, Illinois State, and Tennessee State. During his time coaching at programs like Baylor, Illinois State, and Tennessee State, Daniel developed a coaching DNA built on discipline, teamwork, and a commitment to helping people grow. When he transitioned into the world of construction and development, he carried those same principles into the industry. Today, he operates with a velocity-first mindset, focusing on strategic multifamily renovations and adaptive reuse projects. His disciplined approach to capital and project management has led to consistent results, including a 40% average IRR and a 2.28x MOIC on exited projects. Daniel’s faith is the steady hand behind his work and his life at home. He and his wife live in the Des Moines area with their three children, where they share a dedication to serving their community. This is a mission they live out daily — whether through a focus on stewardship in his projects or his wife’s work launching a non profit for foster care in Iowa. Ultimately, the goal has always been to build high-quality work that reflects the values he was raised with.
Head of Construction
Mario is the Head of Construction at Rise Construction, overseeing all major projects while bringing specialized expertise to the company’s concrete operation, which he owns from end to end, including training, quality, scheduling, and bidding. Day to day, he’s walking job sites, coordinating subcontractors, scheduling crews, and solving problems across multiple active projects at once. When a job gets complicated, Mario is who Rise calls. He’s in the work enough to catch problems early, quick enough to respond when something goes sideways, and experienced enough to just figure it out. From crew coordination to field execution, he handles whatever the project needs to get built right.
Operations Manager
Kati is the Operations Manager, keeping projects, teams, and systems running efficiently while holding every job to a high standard. She comes to Rise from the real estate side, where over several years she moved from Assistant Property Manager to Asset Management and nearly everything in between. She helped build the firm’s internal property management subsidiary and oversaw operations for a 1,500-unit portfolio across the Midwest. Leading property acquisitions and onboarding, running financial reviews, and measuring each asset against its business plan taught her firsthand what an investment needs to perform. That owner’s mindset is one she brings to every Rise project.
