Rise Construction started with a straightforward idea: too many construction projects fail their owners through poor communication, shifting timelines, and misaligned priorities. Meet our team
Owner & Founder
Daniel is originally from Des Moines, Iowa, where he was raised by a mother from Colombia and a father from Canada. Despite being from opposite sides of the equator, they somehow found each other in the heart of the Midwest, instilling in Daniel a relentless work ethic and the belief that family is the foundation for everything else. Those early lessons stayed with him as he pursued a lifelong passion for sports, eventually leading him to the sidelines as a college basketball coach for programs like Baylor, Illinois State, and Tennessee State. During his time coaching at programs like Baylor, Illinois State, and Tennessee State, Daniel developed a coaching DNA built on discipline, teamwork, and a commitment to helping people grow. When he transitioned into the world of construction and development, he carried those same principles into the industry. Today, he operates with a velocity-first mindset, focusing on strategic multifamily renovations and adaptive reuse projects. His disciplined approach to capital and project management has led to consistent results, including a 40% average IRR and a 2.28x MOIC on exited projects. Daniel’s faith is the steady hand behind his work and his life at home. He and his wife live in the Des Moines area with their three children, where they share a dedication to serving their community. This is a mission they live out daily — whether through a focus on stewardship in his projects or his wife’s work launching a non profit for foster care in Iowa. Ultimately, the goal has always been to build high-quality work that reflects the values he was raised with.
Operations Manager
Kati is the Operations Manager, where she keeps projects, teams, and systems running efficiently and holds every job to a high standard. She comes to Rise from a history on the real estate side. Over several years in the industry, she rose from Assistant Property Manager to Asset Management, helped build the firm’s internal property management
subsidiary, and oversaw operations for a 1,500-unit portfolio across the Midwest. With experience leading property acquisition and onboarding, conducting financial reviews, and evaluating each asset against its business plan, Kati understands firsthand what an investment needs to perform. That owner’s mindset is one she brings to every Rise project. Outside of work, she enjoys life in Des Moines with her husband and their daughter.
